Are you suffering with pixilation on a couple of channels only? Sometimes it is okay and sometimes it plays up. In 60% plus of cases it is not your digital TV antenna.

There are a number of parts in a good DIGITAL antenna system. Naming them off:
  • Antenna
  • Cable from antenna to outlet
  • Outlet
  • Short lead from outlet to TV

deeper Image The biggest problem is the short lead . Most are moulded plugs with very little shielding. Move the fly lead and the digital picture changes. THEY ARE A BIG PROBLEM AS THEY ARE UNRELIABLE. The next biggest problem is the outlet itself. It can be a skirting type (pictured) or a plaster mounted version either type of outlet has the problem of contacts expanding resulting in a poor connection. The shielding is non existent which allows spurious signals to enter. Did not matter much on analogue tv PICTURES as it never destroyed the picture but with digital signals it can destroy the picture by corrupting the digital packets of information. The digital standard is F connectors and this is what should be used.

A customer of ours wrote the following :

"I spoke to you yesterday regarding my TV freezing on Ch 7+9. You suggested to exchange fly cables between my two sets, and all is now fine.  I appreciate your business attitude in not sending technicians to my home to charge a large 'call-out' fee. I'll be back and have already recommended you to some of my contacts "
