Do-it-yourself. It offers the opportunity for the Home Handyman to install his own Digital HD Antenna system. There is quality equipment available today which produces quality HD results. Many contractors today forced by economic circumstances and competitive needs use poor quality antennas which fail after a very short time particularly when located around salt.

A HD digital TV Antenna Installation delivers significant amounts of information which must pass from the antenna to the cable without interference or interruption. The smartest way to achieve this is to reduce the amounts of bandwidth the antenna connection has to deal with.

A common Digital TV Antenna is a combination. Deeper Image Television does not use or recommend them. They have one connection which deals with all frequencies. This is easily recognized as it has one cable coming from the antenna.

You can buy a diplexed digital tv antenna which is infinitely superior to a combination and does not cost a lot more. Performance wise it is more linear (equal amounts of signal on all channels) and well placed will provide adequate signal for up to 3 or 4 outlets without amplification.

There are basically 4 different categories of boosters.

People think the best type has lots of gain. Figures like 20 30 or 40 db of gain are quoted. High number so it must be the best. This is so far from the truth. A booster is used to either:

1. Improve very weak signals so boosters with very low noise figures are best. High gain means high noise figures

2. Increase signal levels so they can be feed into a distribution amplifier

3. Increase signal levels so they can be feed down a long cable

4. Use to cover signal losses generated by multiple tv outlets.
